About our Japan Operations

Founded in 1997, our Japan operations expanded through pure organic growth into a portfolio of branded specialties offering full-service communications consulting to foreign and domestic MNCs and governmental organizations. Our Japan team specializes in multidisciplinary expertise provided by core FleishmanHillard (global reputation management), BlueCurrent (brand marketing, influence & digital innovation), VOX Global (public affairs, financial communications and issues management), True Global Intelligence (analytics & insights), Methods + Mastery (social marketing & intelligence).

This role is to be based in our Tokyo office and will focus on recruitment and the attraction of talent, as well as learning and development across all of our business units and practice areas. FleishmanHillard Japan currently operates on a flexible hybrid working model.

What You’ll Do

Recruitment and Talent Attraction

· Partner with the hiring managers to fully understand our business, the practice group and sector, our clients, the current resourcing structure and the skills needed for our open positions.

· Independently manage the recruitment process: sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, reference checks, and onboarding.

· Attracting talent by proactive sourcing is a critical part of this role. This includes using online platforms such as, LinkedIn, posting on social media and local career sites, cold outreach, networking for referrals from current employees and external parties relevant to our industry, using your/our contacts and knowledge of the industry to search for talent.

· Partner with the Managing Directors to develop a campus recruitment and talent attraction program for junior level prospects.

· Enhance employer branding by helping our MD’s identify opportunities to participate in marketing activities, live social networking events, and relevant career fairs and school speaking opportunities.

· Work with MD’s and Social team on a strategy to attract talent through our company websites and social media platforms.

· Engage candidates through the full end-to-end recruitment process.

· Ability to recognize key information and recruitment intelligence to share with hiring managers and Managing Directors (information on competitors, and staying current with industry news)

· Manage and support any ad-hoc projects as required.

Training and Development

· Work with MD’s and Talent Development Director to review staff training needs and develop a training calendar, using resources and content from local, regional, and global sources

· Organize, drive interest and participation in scheduled training sessions

· Work closely with the Managing Director, Talent Development and the Global Learning and Development team to localize and deliver the most current training offerings to the Japan market

What You Receive

· Mentorship, guidance and strong leadership from the Japan leadership and regional talent development team. Day to day, you will work with the Director of TD, Japan, the Managing Directors and hiring managers of the Japan business, as well as the MD, APAC Talent Development (based in Singapore) and the SVP and Partner of Talent Acquisition (based in Hong Kong).

· You will join a regional team comprised of positive, results oriented recruiters and HR generalists across the region, to learn from each other, share best practice, understand new ways of working and different cultures, and current trends in the recruitment space. The TD APAC team meets online once a month and includes other generalists and recruiters from Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Jakarta and Manila, giving you regional exposure and opportunities for networking and learning.

· Globally, you will have access to a global, industry-leading training and development team, who will support the Japan market with a strategic training framework and cutting-edge initiatives and content for our Japan consultants.

What You’ll Need

· Proficiency in English and Japanese – the ability to read and write.

· A minimum of 4 years of experience in recruitment. Basic understanding of (or willingness to learn) local labor laws, such as overtime, holiday work and flexible work style.

· Strong communications skills to share the FleishmanHillard Japan story and the excitement of our career opportunities. The ideal candidate will display positivity and enthusiasm

· Ability to liaise with others respectfully and in harmony, while still being able to influence to achieve a desired result.

· Confidence to work with with multiple stakeholders at the local and regional level, to share solutions and a point of view.

· Focus and agility for a fast-paced and growing environment. Professional services experience is preferred, but not required.

· Must be organized and have excellent follow up skills.

· Energetic, results-focused, and eager to learn.
